Perfect hard-boiled eggs

In response to an earlier rreview about the shells sticking in a hard-boiled egg, I think it has more to do with the egg itself (age, maybe?) than the cooking. I used this lovely little timer to boil two eggs at the same time: one peeled perfectly and the other was a mess. I did exactly the same thing with both eggs, so obviously it wasnt the cooking time that was the problem.

I havent tried any recipes, but the timer is great.
